May to October might not be high season in the south, but there are still plenty of things to do! April to July is prime-time to see turtles laying their eggs on Rekawa Beach; Sri Lanka is one of the few countries in the world where you can watch sea turtles laying eggs in their natural habitat. The newly discovered Hiriketiya Beach is one of the few places you can go swimming and surfing year-round, and Kataragama’s perahera (July – August) is a cultural spectacle that can’t be missed.
Sri Lanka’s Deep South is truly a year-round travel destination. Come and see for yourself.
