Traditional Brassware

Brass, above all other metals in Sri Lanka, is one of the most important metals in Sri Lanka. It plays an important part in the county’s culture and national crafts, and is believed to have come from the Dutch during colonial times. The small village of Angulmaduwa is said to have produced the country’s first brassware. It’s close to Mulkirigala Rock Temple, so swing by the village for high-quality brass in the form of bells, oil lamps and more to bring back home as a souvenir.
